Welcome to Renderly! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our programmatic video generation platform, API services, and related tools. By accessing or using Renderly, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, accessing our API, or using any part of the Renderly platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you are using Renderly on behalf of a company or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to these Terms.

2. Service Description

Renderly provides a programmatic video generation platform that enables businesses to:

  • Generate videos at scale using REST API
  • Create personalized content through JSON-configurable templates
  • Process bulk video generation requests
  • Access enterprise-grade rendering infrastructure

3. API Usage and Limits

  • Fair Use: Our API is designed for legitimate business use cases. Excessive usage that impacts system performance may result in rate limiting or account suspension.
  • Rate Limits: API requests are subject to rate limits based on your subscription plan.
  • Credit System: Video generation is billed through a credit-based system where 1 credit = 1 minute of 1080p video rendering.
  • Volume Discounts: Enterprise customers may qualify for custom pricing and higher rate limits.

4. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your API keys and account credentials
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Monitoring your credit usage and managing billing

5. Content and Intellectual Property

  • Your Content: You retain ownership of all content you submit for video generation. You grant Renderly a limited license to process and render your content.
  • Templates: You may use our template library for commercial purposes. Custom templates you create remain your intellectual property.
  • Generated Videos: You own all videos generated through our platform.
  • Platform IP: Renderly retains all rights to our platform, API, infrastructure, and proprietary technology.

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not use Renderly for:

  • Generating content that violates intellectual property rights
  • Creating misleading, deceptive, or fraudulent content
  • Producing content that promotes illegal activities
  • Circumventing our security measures or rate limits
  • Reselling API access without explicit written permission
  • Reverse engineering our platform or algorithms

7. Payment Terms

  • Credits: Video generation requires credits purchased in advance
  • Billing: Credits are consumed upon successful video rendering
  • Refunds: See our Refund Policy for eligibility criteria
  • Enterprise: Custom payment terms available for enterprise customers
  • Taxes: You are responsible for applicable taxes in your jurisdiction

8. Service Availability

  • Uptime: We maintain a 99.9% uptime SLA for enterprise customers
  • Maintenance: Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance
  • Support: Technical support is provided based on your subscription level
  • Infrastructure: We reserve the right to upgrade or modify our infrastructure

9. Data Security and Privacy

  • Data Processing: Your content is processed securely and deleted after rendering

  • Encryption: All data transmission and storage uses industry-standard encryption

10. Limitation of Liability

Renderly is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for services in the 12 months preceding the claim
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free operation

11. Enterprise Terms

For enterprise customers:

  • Custom SLAs: Service level agreements are defined in separate enterprise agreements
  • Dedicated Support: Priority support channels and dedicated account management
  • Volume Pricing: Custom pricing based on usage commitments
  • Integration Support: Technical assistance for complex integrations

12. Termination

  • By You: You may terminate your account at any time. Unused credits are subject to our refund policy.
  • By Us: We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms or non-payment.
  • Effect: Upon termination, your access to the platform will cease, but these Terms will continue to apply to past usage.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via:

  • Email notification to registered users
  • Updates posted on our website
  • API deprecation notices for technical changes

Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new Terms.
